PENNYGILLAM SCHOOL REUNION: A reunion for all pupils and staff who attended Pennygillam County Secondary School, Launceston, between 1954 and 1964 was held on Friday, October 3 at the Eagle House Hotel. Organiser, Faith Dingle, said: "Everyone was very thrilled with the evening." Special thanks were expressed to Claude Keat, Beryl Fice, Norman Perkins, Kenny Downing, and John Skipworth for all their help and support. Faith also wished to thank the Eagle House Hotel for their hospitality. Almost 200 people attended, including both pupils and staff, many of whom had no contact for almost 50 years. A selection of old photographs was on display, and formed an interesting and informative focal point. It was evident that everyone concerned had enjoyed their time at the school. All proceeds from the successful evening will be donated to a local cancer charity. Faith said:?"Hopefully, everyone who attended will continue to keep in contact with one another." Pictured above are former pupils and members of staff. Further group pictures will appear in future editions of the 'Post'.
