MEMORIES of family members in world war one were on display at a memory day in South Petherwin Methodist Church Hall on Saturday.

The event was to promote and gather extra information for a book on local men who had fought in the war. Organisers of South Petherwin WW1—100, Peter Bailey, Roger Pyke and Phil Parsons, plan to publish the book and distribute it to the parish as part of

the centenary commemorations.

The organisers were on hand to answer questions and exchange information and stories about family members who served in the Great War and were kept busy all day.

All attending enjoyed the event, many saying it was 'emotional, wonderful and insightful'. Ralph Finnimore, aged 10, said the event was 'cool'.
