‘COULD you speak up please?!’ This was the dilemma of the popular Polyphant Ladies’ Club, until the Launceston Rotary Club Charity Shop came to its rescue.
Since it was formed ten years ago, The Polyphant Ladies’ Club membership has grown to the current level of 60. However, many of the audience found it hard to hear many interesting talks given by the regular guest speakers.
So the club applied to the Rotary Charity Shop fund to purchase a stand alone portable microphone/speaker system, and at last month’s meeting the equipment was used for the first time.
The speaker, Geoff Provis (left), of Launceston accepts the microphone from president Ann Bishop (right) prior to presenting his illustrated talk ‘The Fishermen of Port Isaac’ and it was heard loud and clear by all attendees.
The Polyphant Ladies’ Club expressed its thanks to the Launceston Rotary Club for its support from the charity shop fund, enabling the club to purchase this much needed equipment.
