PHONE numbers have been changing across various health clinics and community hospitals operated by Peninsula Community Health, including Launceston and Stratton Community Hospitals, due to the installation of a new system.
The N3 phone system has been implemented as part of a national system for the NHS to move from analogue to digital services.
The existing phone system was in need of upgrading and was at capacity in some areas meaning new phone numbers could not be added.
As well ensuring more telephone numbers are available across the healthcare community, the new system was chosen as it will allow the voice and data services to run on the same network providing an overall cost saving.
