THE Gateway 2 New Life Church has officially opened its new worship centre within the Gateway Centre on Madford Lane, Launceston.

Following the opening of the ROC Hub in June, the Elim Church was joined by John Glass, the general superintendent of Elim and the chair of council for the Evangelical Alliance, to celebrate a new chapter in the church’s history on Thursday, July 23.

A good number were in attendance to hear about the journey the church has been on since starting in May 2010 and how it came about taking on the former tax office building.

Work has now been completed on the top floor of the Gateway Centre to include a 120-seater auditorium, — available for conference booking during the week — children’s ministry rooms, a prayer room and a kitchen area.

John Berriman, senior pastor of Gateway 2 New Life, said: “It is amazing how much has been achieved to date. It would not have been able to happen if it was not for the great team work at Gateway. I am looking forward to what lies ahead.”

As Elim celebrates 100 years as a movement this year, Gateway 2 New Life has also recently planted a church in Bodmin and is planning on planting a church in Truro in the autumn.
