FORTY-FIVE jobs are set to be created in Launceston with the opening of the new M&S Food store at the retail park at Hurdon.
Although it is not known yet when the store might open, a spokesperson for M&S said it would update the community on timings as plans progress.
They added: “We’re looking forward to opening a new M&S Foodhall in Launceston and being part of the community. The store will offer customers the very best of M&S’s quality food and drink, including a wide selection of innovative fresh produce and indulgent seasonal dining ideas.
“We expect to create 45 new jobs locally when the store opens.”
Variety retailers B&M and Costa Coffee will also be opening up on the site. A public exhibition was held at the end of last year at the retail park revealing proposals for the space left vacant after B&Q closed down in October.
