AN EXPENSIVE watch that had gone missing was discovered and returned to its owner recently, thanks to one metal detector from Bude.
Archie Parker Crum and his metal detector saved the day on Monday, April 22, when he and his father, Paul Crum, were called to undertake a task a little different to their every day litter picks with Bude Rubbish Action Group (BRAG).
Paul, who runs BRAG and can often be found clearing up rubbish around the streets and countryside of Bude courtesy of careless litter flingers, contacted the Post after he and his son Archie had seen an appeal online to find an expensive watch that the owner had lost around Bude.
He said: “BRAG were called to a different problem other than litter! Archie and myself saw a post that someone had lost an expensive watch so Archie got his metal detector and off we went.
“Well, in the end no metal detector was needed. He used his mark one eyeball and, hey presto, 20 minutes later one happy lady was reunited with her watch! Well done, Archie — proud of you!”
