LAUNCESTON Town Square and the Castle grounds were buzzing on Saturday with visitors to the Charles Causley Festival, the Castle fun day and the town's first food and drink festival. Many remarked they had never seen the town so busy as they took in the sights, smells and entertainment on offer. An older resident commented that Launceston looked as it used to on market days. In the Castle, the Andrei Burton Events team put on impressive live bike riding demonstrations and there was also Morris dancing by Wreckers Border Morris, live music as well as a bouncy castle and Launceston Lions' 'win a teddy bear' competition. In the Square many craft, food and drink stalls commented on how well they had traded, with some running out of supplies. Spencer Magill, chairman of the Charles Causley Festival committee, said: "It was a really really good weekend, helped with the sun shining. It was great for residents and visitors to come along. A number of people are already asking about next year!" For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
