AN area of disused land is to be transformed into a wildlife haven for all to enjoy. Jim Edwards, from Launceston, has been given stewardship on behalf of Hurdon Way Residents' Association of a strip of land, which was left over from the Wainhomes development. He has been maintaining some of the land, which adjoins his property for years, but has agreed to take on the area for the benefit of all. The land next to Scarne Farm was first purchased in the mid-1950s from the Coode Estates for the building of houses and an entrance was put in place for the use of the tenant farmer in order to continue with his farming interest.
