LAUNCESTON Under-7s put on a tremendous display of tag rugby at Lux Park, Liskeard. Play started with fine flair, Launceston playing the three-pass rule before they are allowed to score. This proved to be an excellent exercise and showed a very strong side, who are supportive of each other during play.

Edward Tait scored the first try, Liskeard retaliated and scored to even things out. Corey Sillifant was the next to score, running from the halfway line.

Launceston were using a great deal of forward thinking, anticipating the opponents' next move, great efficiency in their tagging, thinking and moving like a real formidable force.

Ed Tait grabbed tags and played superb defence. Ross Jarvis and Ed Tait set up a splendid try for Keiron Sargent, all three excel in support play.

Liskeard began play, Launceston gained possession and Mark Horrell made it four tries to one in the first half to Launceston.

The second half saw Liskeard come alive, they were the first to score with an outstanding run that weaved around the pitch and gave Launceston some hefty chasing.

Liskeard again scored a Christmas cracker from the halfway line straight after.

Keiron Sargent stormed the ball up the pitch to let Ed Tait score once more. Corey Sillifant and Ross Jarvis passed to Keiron again for him to plant another try on the line.

Launceston did not stop the attack there because Daniel Roberts scored his first try, well done Dan!

There was some first class running from the girls and they played an important part in match play: Frances Fox and Chloe Hawken also chased down Liskeard players and tagged magnificently.

Liskeard were not down and out though as they returned with another sterling try with a formidable run, weaving through players and like lightning struck down on the line.

Launceston had a secret weapon with them as Tom Jewell scored the last two tries, like a boy possessed he ran like a rocket to score those tries, gaining ground like a machine, fantastic work Tom! Keep it up.

The coaches had their work cut out to choose who played the best as there were some excellent performances from everyone. Running, tagging, support play, passing and of course scoring tries. All players played their best and did Launceston proud.
