THE Rotary Club of Launceston held its Annual Victorian market on Saturday, June 30 and a good day was had by all the visitors with a remarkable absence of rain — although it was very windy.

The market opened at 9am in the Town Square, but because of other commitments, Mayor of Launceston Rob Tremain did not make the official opening until 10.30am when he, also doing his duty as expert town crier, gave a rousing speech welcoming the visitors and thanking the Rotary Club for all its work.

There were lots of stalls representing various charities and local organisations, including the St John Ambulance, the swimming club, the boxing club, the Lions and many others, all hoping to sell their wares for their funds.
