Grammers Park was officially opened on Wednesday, March 17 by Launceston Mayor Paul O'Brien and Cllr David Gordon. Around five years ago the play area in Grammers Park, provided by the Guinness Trust, was vandalised and equipment had to be removed. However, built by Touchwood Enterprises, a new youth shelter is the centrepiece of the redeveloped play area and there is new equipment for children to enjoy. Launceston Town Council was successful in obtaining funding for the project last year from the Play Builder scheme.
