THE Launceston CCTV project's Inaugural General Meeting is going to be held at 6pm on Tuesday, June 30 at the White Hart Hotel, Launceston.

At this meeting the constitution and committee will be formed and the project will be adopted as a local one, run by the community of Launceston. Members of the public are invited to this meeting but are requested to confirm their attendance by letter to PC Matt Kingdon at Launceston Police Station or email [email protected]">[email protected] no later than Wednesday, June 24.

It is also requested that members of the public read the constitution that will be available to view on the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary website where there will be a link under Neighbourhood Policing and Launceston Town. If a paper copy is required then please contact PC Kingdon via the above means.

If members of the public are interested in becoming part of the Police Volunteer Scheme to monitor the CCTV then they are also requested to go along to the meeting or to contact PC Kingdon using the above email address.

The monitoring station will be at Launceston Police Station. The Police Volunteer Scheme is an extension of the police family and everyone will go through a vetting process. No previous experience is needed as training will be given.
