Following a recent Carnival Committee Meeting, Launceston Carnival Committee are pleased to announce that they are launching the search for Launceston's Carnival Royalty.
It is hoped that there will be sufficient interest by the young ladies within the PL15 postal area, to come forward and apply for the title of Carnival Queen.
The committee are seeking applicants from ages four to ten years for the title of Fairy Queen and eleven years and over for the title of Carnival Queen.
The winning applicants can enjoy a substantial prize which includes a generous dress allowance, professional photo shoot, as well as a professional hair and make up make over. All this as well as the pride of being 'Launceston's Carnival Representative'.
Lisa Ford (Carnival Publicity Officer) told the 'Post': "Carnival Royalty is a very important part of the event. As Carnival Royalty, you are representing our town at other carnivals in the district, I suppose you could call it a Carnival Ambassador."
Duties would include visiting other carnivals as well as taking part in other Launceston Carnival events throughout the year.
It is very much hoped that there will be sufficient interest in the position, to hold a special choosing ceremony and be able to have attendants as well. This would also apply for the Fairy Queen and attendants as well.
Entry forms will be available shortly and any enquiries for either position should be made to: Lisa Ford on 07951 226792, when an application pack will be sent out. Any other enquiries regarding the carnival can be made to Dave Gordon on 01566 774706 or any committee member.
The closing date for royalty applications is June 30.
