A CARER at a Launceston care home has been celebrated for her tireless efforts in looking after its residents with a ‘Carer of the Year’ award.

Angie Sheppard, 76, a carer at Pendruccombe House, was awarded the acclaimed prize at the Proud to Care awards, which brings together carers and local employers to celebrate achievements in the industry.

She was described as someone who embodies everything that is best about the care industry, with her personal qualities shining through. It was said that her tireless efforts and passion for helping others has never diminished and she is someone who is deeply respected, admired and loved by the residents who rely on her for their care.
