A LAUNCESTON man was ordered by Bodmin Magistrates on January 9 to have treatment for drug dependency after being found in possession of heroin.

Martyn Alan Light, aged 44 of Station Road, Launceston pleaded guilty to having in his possession on September 19, 5.3 grams of diamorphine (heroin) a controlled drug of Class A.

ORDER

He also admitted having in his possession 0.7 grams of cannabis, a controlled drug of Class C, and 320ml of methadone, a controlled drug of Class A.

A community order was imposed requiring the defendant to have treatment for drug dependency for six months and attend appointments with a probation officer for 12 months.

No order was made for costs but all the drugs seized were ordered to be destroyed by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
