KNITTERS in North Cornwall have been busy creating hundreds of poppies for the Arthur W Bryant Funeral Service — and they will now be taking donations at their branches for the poppies as of today (Thursday) in aid of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Arthur Bryant Funeral Service asked local knitters, crafters and groups to make poppies ahead of Remembrance Day.
Nearly 300 poppies have been made, which Kingsley Bryant said had been a much bigger response than they expected.
He said: “We were really surprised by the amount of poppies we have. We would like to thank all the knitters, craft groups and people who have created so many of these wonderful poppies in their own time.”
The poppies will be available for a donation from the service’s branches in Bude — at Morwenna Court, Princes Street, 01288 352282 and Camelford — at 19 Market Place, 01840 214891, as of today.
