BUDE stepped back in time on Saturday night as the Swinging Sixties came to town! That was the theme of this year's carnival, and everyone got into the 'flower power' spirit.
The procession started at the Lower Wharf and went through the town to Crooklets and back up again.
Carnival committee secretary, Susanne Bartrop said the number of float entries were slightly down but there were a lot of vintage cars and tractors which made up the numbers.
There were a lot of people who lined the streets to support the carnival and catch sight of the floats and walkers.
The collection was up on last year and just under £2,000 was raised.
Susanne said the only problem the committee encountered was that they were short of marshals, and she appealed for anyone who would be interested in marshalling the event next year to contact her on 01288 354066.
She added: "It was very good. It's unfortunate that it rained; at 4pm it rained heavily, but it wouldn't be Bude Carnival without a bit of rain."
