RUMOURS that Alton Community Hospital is about to close have been denied.

But it has been confirmed that the IV (Intravenous) clinic is to be relocated 12 miles away, in Basingstoke.

The loss of the clinic and the need to travel to North Hampshire Hospital at Basingstoke has come as a blow to IV patients who say the journey alone, in terms of time and trouble, and the stress of receiving treatment in a large, acute hospital, will do nothing to improve their health or well being.
