PLAYED in good conditions on a full size pitch with flankers added for the first time in preparation for next season, this was a very worthwhile experiment, while very tired at the end, the boys played some lovely rugby.

Launceston ran the ball from the start with Lloyd Lovell and Dan Down going close on a couple of occasions. Then Lloyd made a great run falling short of the line only for prop Henry Williams, ever in support, to pick up and go over for his first try for his club. The way he is improving with every game I'm sure it will be one of many.

Minutes later after several phases of play Lloyd took off again, the length of the field, only to be tackled inches short but tremendous backup by centre Max Kelly allowed him to pick up and score the second. With the packs even, Saltash started to win ball and spin it to their speedy backs and their big centre went in for a good try.

Launceston went into their old habits and team work began to slip into individual play, trying to take it on on their own, then realising what they had previously been doing they produced 15 minutes of outstanding rugby. Winning ruck after ruck and spinning the ball one way then the other gaps and overlaps appeared which allowed livewire scrum half Ben Parham to score.

Captain George Bone and Tom Sandercock 2 had great debut as wing forwards, Tom being a real thorn in Saltash's side won him Man of the Match. Only team work will produce rugby of this standard. Well done boys.
