ESTABLISHED in Bude in 1988, The Clip Joint has been recognised by the British Barbers' Association (BBA) for its standards — becoming the second barbershop in the whole of the country to achieve the award. The accreditation scheme was set up by the British Barbers' Association to raise the standards of barbershops in the UK. At present, anyone can set up and practice barbering without a license or qualifications. Members of the BBA must pass certain standards to prove that they train staff correctly, complete regular training updates, are fully insured and meet health and safety criteria. Owner Colin Danks said: "I'm delighted to say we are a BBA Accredited salon because we have always maintained the highest standards possible. I have worked as an international platform artist for the last 10 years or so and have travelled the world demonstrating the skills I have learned and picking up new techniques along the way. I have passed this on to my stylists as well as attending courses in barbering and male styling."
