ST Petroc’s School in Bude has just received a superb review from Muddy Stilettos Cornwall, a website set up as the ‘Urban guide to the Countryside’ in Cornwall.
The school welcomed Lou Whelan, the editor of Muddy Stilettos, who spent the day meeting pupils, staff and parents in both the Prep School and Early Years. Her reviews are independent and the school was delighted by the excellent things that she had to say about St Petroc’s.
Headmaster, Dan Thornburn, said “It is always great when people who haven’t seen St Petroc’s before come and cast their eye on us. To have had such positive feedback is not only pleasing but also reassuring – we think we know what we do well, but to have somebody independent confirming that is fantastic.”
The review, which can be found on both the Muddy Stilettos Cornwall and the school’s website and Facebook pages, highlighted a number of areas of strength which St Petroc‘s has become known for: developing self-confidence in its pupils, outstanding opportunities in Music, Drama and Art and Sport (which pupils are able to play every day), a genuine family feel with a strong emphasis on excellent behaviour, good manners and consideration for others — all of these were noted and mentioned very favourably. It was also noted just how much variety there was on offer at the school, with regular surfing activities and visits to the beach a standard part of school life.
Mr Thornburn added: “My favourite line in the review was ‘if you came looking for something special, you found it’ — this just about sums up why we are all so pleased with it. We feel it has really captured the unique spirit of our school. We hope the review will encourage even more visits to our upcoming Open Week from October 3 to October 7. I’d love people to come and see for themselves why Muddy Stilettos were so impressed with St P’s!”
