BUDE’S railway branch line opened on August 11 1898, benefitting North Cornwall, and closed on October 3 1966.

‘Steaming into Bude’ is Bude Castle Archives’ 2016 exhibition, researched and organised by the archive volunteers at The Castle and highlights recent railway related don­ations and acquisitions to the archive collection.

The exhibition runs from February 4 to February 23 in the Willoughby Gallery and the Blanchminster Room at The Castle Heritage Centre, Bude.

The Castle is open 10am to 4pm seven days a week and entry is free.
