When Fiona Farley's father died of a heart attack in September 2008 she vowed to raise money for Britain's leading heart charity, The British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Having done various events in the past — last year she encouraged all of Barclays Bank employees to 'Ramp Up The Red' by wearing red in February — she decided to do something special.

So on November 29 this year, she found herself at Dunkeswell Airfield, near Honiton, strapped in tandem to an experienced skydiver and launched herself from 15,000ft — the highest you can jump without oxygen — and freefell for one minute.

She also had a pre-owned bookstall at Barclays Bank in Bude for two-months, raising money for BHF.

In total she raised £1,066, which was increased by £1,000 by Barclays, where she has worked for eight years.
