PROCEEDS of £225 will go towards a Launceston community centre as a result of the first Christmas fayre held at the Gateway 2 New Life Centre.

Nineteen local craft stalls attended, and Windmill Academy Samba Band and St Catherine's School Choir performed on the day the ROC Hub opened for the first time. Hot drinks and home-made cakes were also on sale.

The Hub officially opens in January, with the aim of meeting the unmet social needs of the town and community, and providing a safe, large open venue for young people, children doing after-school work, the lonely and vulnerable, and 'worklessness' clubs.
