A FARM shop near Launceston has helped its local Lions club to bring festive cheer.

The Tre, Pol and Pen Farm Shop near Lezant, Launceston has raised £765 for Callington Lions through breakfasts served in the restaurant and donations.

In the three Saturdays before December 25, Father Christmas managed to fit in visits to Tre, Pol and Pen in spite of a very busy schedule, thanks to a helping hand from the Lions. He chatted to youngsters whilst they were having breakfast and the children had the chance to have a photo in his sleigh.

Staff at Tre, Pol and Pen took on the role of Santa’s Little Helpers.

Lions president Karen Toft thanked shop manager Charlotte Gliddon for the very generous donation and said she appreciated the way Tre Pol Pen had carefully thought about keeping the Christmas spirit alive in a safe and responsible way.

“The money raised goes to support local charities, families in need and for community projects,” she said.

“The Lions pledge that every pound that is donated is used for charity.”

Callington Lions have also been helping Santa to do Zoom calls to youngsters in the local area – to find out more about this and the work of the local Lions branch, visit https://www.facebook.com/CallingtonLionsNews.
