THE Castle, Bude, owned and operated by Bude-Stratton Town Council, hosted its biggest and most successful Christmas Fair to date on Sunday, December 4.

The mayor of Bude-Stratton, Cllr Lea Deely said: “We have hosted a Christmas Fair at The Castle since 2009. It has always been popular and well supported. However, this year, following our staffing restructure and the ensuing recruitment of staff to new roles, our team worked brilliantly together to deliver a significantly larger scale event.

“The atmosphere was fantastic — welcoming, vibrant, festive and fun. Having secured over 50 local business stalls, I’m delighted at the unprecedented number of visitors. As I walked around the marquee and through the rooms in The Castle, my sense of pride grew with every step and positive comment. I am immensely proud of our staff’s achievements but equally wish to sincerely thank every stallholder and visitor who contributed to our success today.

“Our Christmas Fair and the Light Up Bude late night shopping event on Friday, voluntarily organised by local residents and traders, made Bude the place to be this weekend.”
