A NUMBER of dogs, mainly poodles and miniature poodles, were taken from a premises in Launceston by the RSPCA on Wednesday, November 16.

Police confirmed they assisted the RSPCA, with a warrant, at 1.20pm on Wednesday when they removed around 27 dogs from the premises on Dockacre Road, in Launceston — but no arrests were made.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police confirm that they assisted with the RSPCA with a warrant executed at an address in Dockacre Road in Launceston at 1.20pm on Wednesday 16th November 2016. Police have made no arrests in connection with the warrant.”

The RSPCA made a statement regarding the recent raid, their spokesperson said: “The RSPCA can confirm that on Wednesday, November 16, a warrant was executed by Devon and Cornwall Police at a premises in Launceston, Cornwall

“Twenty-seven dogs — mainly poodles and miniature poodles — were taken from the premises by police and we are assisting them in any way we can. As the investigation is currently ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this time.”
