LOCAL doctor Di Gurd (Di McDougall) recently completed an amazing feat of ‘wing walking’ to raise money for the upkeep of  St Michael’s Church, Bude. 

Di, supported by her brother Tony, originally aimed to complete this challenge in June but due to inclement weather and problems with the plane it had to be postponed several times. Di and Tony have both worked tirelessly to gain sponsorship to raise money for their local church.

They said: “It has been a long time coming but it was worth every minute of the wait.”

Following the wing walk they expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported them and who has donated — they have been humbled by people’s generosity. Claire James on behalf of St Michael’s Church said: “Well done Di and Tony, what a fabulous achievement.”
