PEOPLE have been left in the dark after Devon and Cornwall Windows Ltd, based in Launceston, went into administration suddenly.
The window and glazing company closed its Newport Industrial Estate store and terminated its website and social media pages at the end of November. However, many customers have expressed their concern that they are yet to receive any correspondence or updates.
A number of customers have taken to social media to express their anger at the news and enquire whether their deposits, which are currently in a state of limbo, will be returned.
One said: “So awful, all the people who have paid deposits, and all the workers going unpaid right before Christmas, never mind anyone who needs to have faults rectified.”
However, others have asked for kindness at this time and expressed their sympathies to the company.
Another added: “I totally sympathise with all that have paid deposits etcetera, but before you all jump on the bandwagon think of everyone that this has affected, people have lost their jobs and a family have lost their business at the hardest time of the year. No one deserves any of this and don’t need all the nasty backlash/threats they will receive, a lot of companies go into liquidation its absolutely devastating. What ever happened to just being kind and having a little bit of compassion for a lovely family who have lost everything!”
It has since been confirmed that the company has gone into ‘voluntary liquidation’ and the directors have appointed administration and insolvency company Begbies Traynor.
