THE daughter of a war-time evacuee is appealing for help in tracing the family she stayed with.
Jean Dorothy Coleman, who was born in 1935 was evacuated to Launceston from Battersea in about 1939-40. She stayed with the Fry family.
Her daughter, Sue Thompson, is now trying to find out any information regarding the time.
She said: “Unfortunately my mother passed away this year, but I would love to know a little more about them. All I have is a photo of my grandmother standing outside the house with the Fry family members. My grandmother is the lady to the right of the photo.
“Are there any relatives of the Frys still in the area or anyone who might remember them? I would love to know anything about them.”
Sue’s aunt was also evacuated to Launceston at the same time, although her mother and aunt did not know each other at that time, her aunt being a little older than her mother.
She stayed at the vicarage, although Sue is unsure which one.
If anyone has any recollections or memories they would like to share with Sue, she can be emailed at [email protected]
