A RECENT special community event in Bude combined a penalty shoot out with the local community police team with activities, advice and support on everyday issues.

The one-off event took place in Bude on Thursday, August 16 at Primrose Road Estate and was held by landlord Penwith Housing Association, part of Devon and Cornwall Housing group.

To limit damage that can be caused by games of street football, Devon and Cornwall Housing Community Development Worker Mai Evans worked closely with Devon and Cornwall Police, and arranged for soft footballs to be given to each family on the estate as well as providing portable goals as a way of encouraging children to play together on the communal grass area.
