Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is offering a Christmas tree recycling service for households across Cornwall.

Last Christmas, ‘treecyclers’ raised almost £8,000 for the charity, which runs the Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell, as well as Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Bridge House in North Devon.

This year, it is collecting real trees in even more locations in return for a donation to CHSW. The postcodes in Cornwall are PL23, PL24, PL25, PL26, PL27, PL30, PL31, TR7 and TR8. Volunteers from Biffa will be collecting trees between January 10 and 15, and collections can be booked in advance on the CHSW website until Thursday, January 4.

CHSW events fundraiser, Kiley Pearce said: “This is such an easy, green and charitable way to recycle your Christmas tree, while helping to support Little Harbour children’s hospice in Porthpean, St Austell.

“The money raised from collecting and recycling trees will help make a huge difference at the most difficult of times, so don’t wait — book your collection in today!

“We’d like to say a huge thank-you to Biffa, who are generously donating their time and vehicles to help us collect the Christmas trees — we are very grateful for their support.”
