THE children from Launceston Pre-school received a visit from Launceston St John Ambulance last Thursday.
Officer-in-Charge, Tony Taplin, gave a little talk to the children and then they were taken in small groups to look around the ambulance and see some of the equipment. Divisional Officer Sonia Clements and ETA Layla Burford took this task.
"It gives small children a chance to see the inside of an ambulance," said Tony, "and can help to allay any fears that they have, if ever they or a family member have need of one. This is all part of our Care in the Community policy and we are always pleased to take part in community visits such as this."
Launceston Pre-school has been running for approximately 45 years and the head of the project is Mrs Gilbert assisted by all her dedicated staff members.
A spokesperson said: "The children are extremely happy here and obviously well cared for and looked after to a really high standard. The projects they undertake are excellent and they learn plenty of skills that will help them enormously when they go on to 'big school'. A really enjoyable hour was spent by everyone."
