SONGBIRDS and edible hedges delighted charity members on a recent visit to the community groups they have supported this year.

Every year the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) takes donors and supporters to visit projects where the charity's grants have made a difference to the community, to meet project leaders.

Some 20 supporters visited South Petherwin Allotments and Tregadillett Songbirds last Thursday, including members of the business club Cornwall 100 Club.

The CCF's business arm, the Cornwall 100 Club is a group of businesses who, along with taking corporate social responsibility seriously, want to invest in their community. The club awarded £40,300 last year.

The Cornwall 100 Club was established in March 2008. The funding helps local people to improve their communities; in particular they encourage projects, which improve community space, provide services or help businesses and communities work together.
