CARNIVAL week is here again after a lapse of 20 years and the residents of St Breward have been enjoying a fun-filled, exciting week.
This year marks the pearl anniversary (30 years) of the carnival, which was started in 1988.
The week began on Saturday, June 30, with the scarecrow competition, which had a pearl theme. Wandering around the village, it was a sight not to be missed — a map helped guide the public to ensure they didn’t miss out on seeing any of the creative scarecrows.
Many events take place in the run up to carnival day on Saturday, July 7, when there will be a wonderful procession that weaves its way through the village with floats, bands, vintage vehicles etc. and of course, the carnival’s very own royalty.
The carnival committee expressed its thanks to all those who helped to make this carnival possible and wished everyone good luck and hoped they have an enjoyable carnival experience.
The carnival continues at the football club where there is a lot more to do including a bouncy castle, face painting and more.
