Money spent from the cancellation of High Speed 2 is set to benefit plans to build the long-awaited Camelford Bypass.

It is one of a number of schemes to benefit from an increase in government contribution from 85% to 100% at the outline business case stage.

Scott Mann, MP for North Cornwall hailed the news, saying: “I am pleased that the Camelford Bypass (A39) has been included as one of the schemes which will benefit from an uplift in government contribution from 85% to 100% of their costs at the outline business case (OBC) stage. The increased funding will help ensure the delivery of the scheme. I have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that Camelford was one of the schemes that benefited, and I am very positive about its delivery.”
