A BUTTERFLY wall mural, brightening Launceston Town Hall, was unveiled to the public last week.

Barefoot volunteers worked hard with help from artist Cosmic, throughout Saturday, May 12 putting the final touches to the piece.

The idea of a butterfly stemmed from a Barefoot meeting and was created at a workshop held during the town's fun day last summer. Children and families rolled out yards of clay for the 1.5metre butterfly, which was then pieced together by Barefoot volunteers.

Steve Fry of Launceston Town Council, who renovated the wall, was given the honour to fix the butterfly into place.
