LAUNCESTON is now part of the National Express Penzance to London coach route, making the capital city more accessible to people from the Post area.

The 503 service, which has added Launceston to its route, takes in London Victoria Coach Station, London Heathrow Airport, Sweethay M5 Services Southbound, Exeter Honiton Road Park & Ride, Exeter City Centre Sidwell Street, Okehampton West Street, Launceston Westgate Street, Bodmin Priory House, Newquay Bus Station, Redruth Railway Station, Pool opposite Cornwall College, Camborne Bus Station, Hayle Fore Street, Hale Foundry Square, St Erth Park & Ride, Crowlas opposite the Star Inn and Penzance Bus Station.

Cornwall Councillor for Launceston South, Jade Farrington, who announced the news recently, said the service will be a great asset to the area.

“It is great that people can now get a direct service from Launceston to the capital instead of having to travel somewhere else first if they want to catch a coach or train.

“The reasonable prices make trips to London more accessible, meaning more people can afford to visit. It also provides Launceston with a chance to cater more to tourists and increase visitor numbers.

“Like any commercial route, the service will only continue if it is well used, so I hope it proves to have the passenger numbers needed to sustain it.”
