Ernie Warwick from Bude was presented with the award of 'Highly Commended' for his outstanding exhibits of Calendonian-McBrain Ferries at the Annual Liskeard Model and Engineering Society Exhibition on Sunday, March 1. Ernie, originally from Kent, has been 'Scratch Building' model ships since the 1960's and is well known to all the 'Calmac' skippers as he has, over the years, built almost the entire fleet of their ferries. Ernie, who lost his wife to cancer just before Christmas, is currently working on 'The Argyle', the latest in the 'Calmac' fleet. The boat is to be dedicated to his wife Maureen who supported his love of Scotland and ships for many years.
