YOUNGSTERS in Bude have been undertaking a ‘garden ninja mission’ recently, as part of being kinder to others in the community.
A small group from Blend Bude Youth Collective paid a surprise visit to local lady Mary on Sunday, September 9 as part of their Kind Club garden ninja mission.
Due to ailing health, Mary hasn’t been able to get out in her front garden and it had become rather overgrown.
Kaylie Wright of Blend put together a team to sort this out — and only took two hours to transform it into a lovely little garden again.
Mary was so happy with the work they did that she has made a donation to Blend’s WaterAid bucket walk challenge that they are undertaking on September 23.
Kaylie said: “It was such a touching thing to do and see. Mary had such a big smile all day and so did the Blenders. It just goes to show that doing a little good makes everyone feel really good.”
Blend Bude Youth Collective has received a generous donation from Budehaven Community School.
Budehaven Community School announced that they would be donating a generous sum of almost £300 to Blend Bude Youth Collective — a team of youngsters aiming to provide help and support to all in the community.
Jamie Wright, leader of Blend, said: “I was blown away when I got the call from Mr Reay saying that the school was going to donate us nearly £300! It brought a tear to my eye.
“It’s so gratifying to know that others recognise what we are trying to do and amazing that the pupils voted for us. A massive thank you to all at Budehaven for this. I’m sure the Blenders will put the money to good use.”
