OVER 500 bikers turned out for the Moorlanders MCC Motorbike Club Easter Egg Run.

The run, now in its 14th year, was held in association with Widows Sons Kernow, and despite inclement weather, over 500 participants rolled on to Davidstow Airfield in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

The run raises money for local children's charities — Action for Children, Little Harbour (CHSW), the ARB special needs units of Camelford and St Stephens, Launceston primary schools and Bowden Derra Care Home.

Richard Hallett, Vice Chairman of Moorlanders MCC said: "With all that's going on in the economy, we never expected to get close to what we raised last year — yet we knew the charities would need it even more. We're looking set to reach £4,500 and beat it! It's a true testament to the big hearted nature of bikers."
