THE Mayor of Launceston, Cllr Paul O'Brien switched on the lights to open the first ever Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary Magdalene Church on December 3.
Twenty-eight trees beautifully and creatively decorated were displayed depicting the work and activities of local schools, charities and other organisations. Musical angels; driftwood; cup-cakes; cut-out hand-shapes; biscuits and jam to name but a few of the unusual decorations were much admired by the many visitors to the three day event.
