LAUNCESTON’S Railway Circle has received a boost thanks to the town’s Rotary Club Community Shop.
Les Whaley, the chairman of the Launceston Railway Circle, approached the Rotary Community Shop for help in purchasing a laptop and projector for the Railway Circle.
The circle wants to use these facilities to show DVDs of Railways from the 1960s to date.
Mr Whaley expects to receive contributions from his members but asked Rotary to start the ball — or train — rolling.
The Rotary Shop was pleased to help and £200 was presented to the circle.
Mr Whaley conveyed his thanks to Rotary for the cheque and added that the Railway Circle Club had about 30 members, had been going since 1963, met in the Dingley Hall eight times a year with an extra four meetings in the summer to outside, country places and that there was also an interest in model railways. Anyone interested in becoming a member could ring 01566 774622.
