A MAN and woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following a spate of assaults in Launceston.

Police were called at 2.10pm on April 16, to Prince Philip Road, following a report that a man and woman had been assaulted in a property.

At around 2.25pm a report was received of a man being assaulted with a bladed weapon in the nearby Newport Industrial Estate.

All three victims sustained injuries, which are not being treated as life-threatening or changing.

Following the incident, police units, including armed officers, carried out searches and enquiries in the area.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, in connection to both reports.

“A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, in relation to the second report. Both remain in police custody this morning.

“Investigating Detectives are appealing for any witnesses who may have information or dash-cam footage in connection to the incident in Newport Industrial Estate, to report it to us.
