POLICE are asking residents of Launceston to be vigilant following reports of ‘suspicious door-to-door traders’.
The traders were seen on Friday, April 17, at several locations around Launceston and the surrounding area.
The police expressed thanks to those who have contacted them recently to report the suspicious door-to-door traders that have been seen in the Launceston area recently.
As a result of the information received they have been able to locate, identify and speak to the people involved and investigate their credentials.
The police have verified the persons in question as having valid trading licenses.
Any further concerns, only where a specific crime is now suspected, should be reported to the police.
If they are in the local area people are asked to be mindful of vulnerable people in the community.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via the non-emergency 101 line or email [email protected] quoting log number 777 of 27/04/18.
Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or reporting online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
