A MAN who was caught taking photographs of children at a town carnival has been sent to jail.

Reports on social media in the aftermath of the successful Bodmin town carnival suggested that there was a man who was photographing children without consent at the event.

As well as the social media reports, calls to Devon and Cornwall Police were made, with it later confirmed that the man had been sentenced for 12 months.

A spokesperson for the Bodmin policing team said: “During Bodmin Carnival we received reports of a male taking photographs of children. Bodmin Neighbourhood attended and the male was arrested and remanded.

“He has now been sentenced to Prison for 12 months.

“We want to thank the concerned members of public that reported this incident.”
