COMMUNITY members are working together in an effort to tackle a fire which has broken out near Launceston.

Witnesses have said that a fire near the town’s Steam Railway (St Stephens) is being calmed by members of the community.

One resident told us that locals are carrying buckets of water to the scene to help get the blaze under control.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have not yet detailed the cause or state of the blaze.
