LAUNCESTON Golf Club welcomed over 110 entries, representing 23 clubs from the South West, to its recent Junior Open competition. The course was in superb condition and the weather was perfect for the event. This was the first round of the Cornwall Order of Merit for the under 18 boys, and the under 16 boys and girls, as well as being a qualifier for the National Telegraph Junior competition. The winner of the boys' contest was Alex McHugh from Mullion, and the girls' Jess Francis from Churston. The afternoon winners were Zac Cook from Mullion, and Mr Rodney Duke from Launceston.
