WILL Heard of Launceston Tennis Club has won the 'Most Valued Player' trophy for his performance at West Hants High Performance Centre recently.
Players aged nine and 10 from Cornwall and Devon who are at the top of their game were invited as part of the Team Flybe programme to take part in this year's visit to the centre in Bournemouth to enjoy three days of high intensity tennis with former GB number one Lucie Ahl and coaches from both West Hants and TDA Tennis in Bodmin. The trip gives youngsters a taste of being 'on tour' by travelling away from home with coaches and teammates.
Will's performance over the three days earnt him the most valued player accolade.
He said: "My favourite part was playing and sliding on clay!"
For Will, being invited to play tennis for three days solid was a dream come true and the chance to do this independently was an important step in his tennis journey.
James Brobin, Head Coach at Launceston Tennis Club, said: "William has a fantastic attitude towards his tennis and because of this he will go far."
